Canadian Network of Multiple Sclerosis Clinics

The Canadian Network of Multiple Sclerosis Clinics is...

A national network of academic and community based clinics established for the advancement of patient services, education, and research in Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is a disabling disease of the central nervous system. The myelin protecting nerve cells and the neurons of the central nervous system are damaged and/or destroyed.

  • Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease in which the body mistakenly attacks it’s own central nervous system (brain and spinal cord)

  • Multiple Sclerosis is the most common neurological disease affecting adults in Canada

  • Canada has one of the highest rates of Multiple Sclerosis in the world

  • Researchers are actively working on identifying what causes Multiple Sclerosis and developing drug treatments that halt and possibly reverse the autoimmune attack
